Many garages offer cheap MOTs, then make their money back on the repair work. MOT stations that are also repair garages have an incentive to find faults, and their failure rates tend to be higher than test centres that do not do repairs.

All types of motorhome tested. We are one of the only test centres on the Fylde Coast with a bay big enough for large motorhomes.
Cars & Small Vans
All cars and small vans need a test when they are over 3 years old, and then every year after that.
Light Commercials
One of the only test centres in Blackpool able to test Class 7 light commercials (3,000 to 3,500kg).

MOT FAQs
When does my vehicle need an MOT?
You must get an MOT for your vehicle by either:
- the third anniversary of its registration, or
- the anniversary of its last MOT, if it is over 3 years old.
Some vehicles, such as taxis and ambulances, need to be tested at one year old.
What is the earliest date I can get an MOT?
An MOT lasts for a year. The date it runs out is printed on your last pass certificate, and you can check it free on GOV.UK.
You can get an MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. For example, if your MOT runs out on 15 May, the earliest you can test and keep that date is 16 April.
What if my MOT has run out?
You cannot drive your vehicle on the road if the MOT has run out. You can be fined up to £1,000 if you are caught.
The only exceptions are driving it:
- to or from somewhere to be repaired
- to a pre-arranged MOT test

Why choose an MOT-only test centre?
Because we do not do repairs, we make nothing from failing your vehicle. Our only job is an honest, thorough test. If it is safe, we pass it. Garages that also do repairs often advertise cheap MOTs and make the money back on repair work, which is a conflict of interest we simply do not have.
If your vehicle does fail, we will tell you how much the repair should reasonably cost and where you can go to get it done.
How long does an MOT take?
Most MOTs take around 45 minutes to an hour. You are welcome to wait in our clean, warm waiting area with a free brew, or use our pick-up and drop-off service.
